NATIONAL PARK COMMUNITY COLLEGE
PRESS RELEASE

NPCC Announces Summer Hours

NPCC has announced their plans to implement a four-day week from May 19-August 7. The hours of operation Monday-Thursday will be from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The college will be closed on Fridays. This action is being taken to accommodate students, faculty and staff in an effort to eliminate one day of driving to campus to save on gasoline use. Additional cost savings will be a decrease in energy use and related expenses for the college due to being closed on Fridays.

Dr. Sally Carder, president at NPCC, stated, “ We always want to be mindful of the sacrifices our students make to attend the college and helping them eliminate costs associated with driving expenses is one way we can help. Also, with the state budget cuts, we must be prudent with each decision we make regarding spending. Saving is the best way to ensure we can provide the best opportunities for our students while staying within our budget. And, as all of us are charged with leaving a lighter footprint, we are being good stewards of our earth as we conserve in this manner.”

The regular five-day week will resume on August 11, 2008 with hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
