Microsoft & CompTIA (Technical Certificate) (30 SSCH)

Do you like computers? Are you interested in learning a new skill that will enable you to deploy. manage, and prepare you to design networks?

Learn Windows 2008 Server, Windows 7 and other related network systems in the NPCC Microsoft Certification classes. Classes are offered for all three semesters, Summer, Fall, and Spring.

Completion of the following courses qualifies you for the Technical Certificate:

MS Essentials: 3 SSCH
MS NOS: 3 SSCH
MS Networking 1: 3 SSCH
MS Networking 2: 3 SSCH
MS Directory Services: 3 SSCH
Micro Hardware Maintenance 1: 3 SSCH
Micro Hardware Maintenance 2: 3 SSCH
Networking & Communications 1: 3 SSCH
Networking & Communications 2: 3 SSCH
Networking & Communications 3: 3 SSCH
Total: 30 SSCH

NPCC is a member of the Microsoft IT Academy and uses only Microsoft Official curriculum to prepare for certification. Real world scenarios are used to allow you the hands-on training you need to be successful in the IT technical field. Below is a list of Microsoft classes offered and their certifications that correspond to each class. Successful completion of all the classes and passing the exams for each will give you either an MCITP certification. Passing of any one of the certification exams will give you a MCTS Certification.

Prerequisites: Core Classes and Certification (all required for MCITP)

This certificate offers entry-level courses for individuals who wish to acquire experience with networking and operating system principles and equipment requirements. Topics include: network basics, protocols, operating system configurations, connectivity issues, and internetworking devices. The essentials of network management, interoperatibility techniques, and troubleshooting approaches are emphasized.

To insure success in the Computer Information Systems program, the following program prerequisites are recommended before entering the program:

  • Type 28 wpm (3-minute exam)
  • English ACT score of 19
  • Reading ACT score of 19
  • Math ACT score of 19 for Intermediate Algebra
  • Math ACT score of 18 for Business Math with Calculators
  • Competency Test

All courses listed in the catalog are required, but the sequence of courses taken is based on availability and the necessity for prerequisites.

In the Business Division curricula, courses prerequisite to another class require a minimum grade of C in order to advance to the next course. Go to the NPCC catalog for more information about the courses required
