Office Administration and Computer Applications (AAS) Two-Year Degree (60 hours)

Kayla Pennington, Office AdministrationStudents who complete this degree receive instruction in computer courses that teach word processing, spreadsheets, and database. In addition, students take general office and general education courses to complet this degree.

This degree is designed for those seeking employment and not planning to continue formal study towards a baccalaureate degree. Consequently, some courses in this degree will not transfer to all four-year colleges.

Therefore,students who do plan to attend a four-year college are strongly advised to correspond with the college to which they plan to attend to confirm which courses will transfer.

In the Business Division curricula, courses prerequisite to another class require a minimum grade of C in order to advance to the next course.

Graduates who complete this 36-hour credit technical certificate acquire the knowledge of general legal office procedures, systems, and technology appropriate for entry-level employment in a modern legal environment. Courses include computer classes, general business classes, and transcription classes.

Medical Office (Technical Certificate)

Graduates who complete this 35-hour credit technical certificate acquire the knowledge of general medical office procedures, systems, and technology appropriate for entry-level employment in a modern medical environment. Courses include medical terminology, computer classes, general business classes, and transcription. Students may become employed as a receptionist in medical and dental offices, hospitals, clinics, or home health agencies.
