Radiography Program Admission Application

For the class years 2009 and 2010 the Radiography Program has had a 100% pass rate on the ARRT exam. This exam is taken upon the completion of the program. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is the world's largest credentialing organization that seeks to ensure high quality patient care in medical imaging, interventional procedures and radiation therapy. They test and certify technologists and administer continuing education and ethics requirements for the technologists annual registration.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Radiography Program at National Park Community College is to provide selected students the clinical and didactic education necessary to create a sound foundation for graduates to qualify as contributing members in the professional career of Radiologic Technology.

Radiography (A.A.S.) (72 SSCH)

Program Goals

The profession of Radiologic Technology is dedicated to the conservation of life, health and the prevention and treatment of disease. The well-qualified technologist has the knowledge and skill to perform all related technical duties and the opportunity to develop health programs.

The goals of the program are as follows:

1. Students/graduates are clinically competent.

2. Students will demonstrate behaviors consistent with an entry-level radiographer in the areas of communications, collaborative learning and critical thinking/problem solving skills.

3. Students will possess skills and knowledge to perform Radiologic Technologist duties in a professional manner.

4. Graduate Radiologic Technologists will meet the needs of the community.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

This A.A.S. Degree is offered only to students who have been accepted into the program after meeting all requirements. Class size is mandated by clinical limitations. Applications for the two year program are to be submitted from January to the second Monday in March, and classes begin each Fall Semester.

NOTICE

Beginning in 2008, all students admitted into the Radiography Program at NPCC will be required by one or more of the program’s clinical education sites, to pass a drug and a criminal background check. Admitted students who fail any of these procedures will be terminated from the program
