History

Declaration of IndependenceThe purpose of studying history is to help us learn about ourselves.  Human nature seems to have changed little over the centuries however the context in which we live has transformed radically.  Technology has changed the living environment in both positive and negative ways.  Since history is about what it means to be human in an ever changing context, studying the problems and/or solutions of past individuals, nations and cultures provides some insight into our own “human dilemma”.  History does NOT provide answers to life’s most difficult decisions, but does allow us to ask the past generations some of the right questions.
