Description of Programs
Associate of Applied Science The AAS degree in Hospitality Administration will provide students with a solid knowledge base upon which to build a career in the hospitality industry. The degree includes those courses required in the hospitality certificate of proficiency and the hospitality technical certificate (30 hours), hospitality related electives (15 hours), and core general education courses (15 hours). Hospitality Administration Graduates who complete this 30-hour credit technical certificate acquire the knowledge, skills, and technical ability appropriate for employment requiring entry-level duties and responsibilities in the hospitality administration field. This certificate includes supervised internships in local properties. Students may seek careers in the field of hotel and restaurant management, tourism, or guest services. Hospitality Administration A Certificate of Proficiency is also available for individuals seeking employment in the hospitality field. Students who complete this 18-credit hour certificate have the basic skills to work in the hotel/motel and restaurant industry. Technical Certificates The Technical Certificate is awarded after successful completion of combined classroom and laboratory work. Successful completion of the certificate requirements provides a minimum degree of competency in the field of choice. This certificate program is designed for entry level technicians. New!!
