Rotary Foundation Offers Scholarship Opportunities

The Rotary Foundation offers several scholarship opportunities for individuals wanting to study in another country. These awards include one or two year scholarships for college/university study. Scholarships for either three or six months are offered for those interested in intensive language study. Candidates must have completed at least two years of university or college course work at the time the scholarship period begins or have a secondary school education with em¬ployment in a recognized vocation for at least two years. Rotary Grants for University Teachers

Rotary Grants for University Teachers provide funds to higher education faculty to travel abroad to teach at colleges and universities in developing countries. The program is intended to build international understanding and foster development while strengthening higher education in low-income countries. The program also aims to establish ties between higher education institutions, leading to the exchange of ideas and information across the globe. The subjects taught by grant recipients must be relevant to the needs of the local population and contribute to the area's socio-economic development
.
Applications must be made through a local Rotary club. Find club contact information through the Club Locator. Club candidates go on to compete at the district level.

Grant availability depends on local Rotarian contributions to The Rotary Foundation, as well as the programs the district chooses to support. Some districts may not offer Rotary Grants for University Teachers every year.
Application deadlines vary, so prospective applicants should contact their local club for this information. Club deadlines for awards will generally be set between 1 March and 15 July.
