Individualized Academic Advisement
Services include academic advising for students requiring assistance in determining degree plans, scheduling of classes, registration, and determining transfer requirements to four-year universities.

Workshops
Workshops are provided to SSS members in the areas of study skill, mathematics, time management, financial aid, career exploration, resume writing and personal development.

Tutoring
Professional tutoring is offered FREE of charge to students who are members of Student Support Services. Peer tutoApril 4, 2007hair of the academic area for which tutoring is requested.

Transfer Assistance to Senior Institutions
Students wishing to transfer to a four-year college or university within the state will be provided with free guided tours and transfer assistance. Services for all transferring students will include assistance with housing, registration, financial aid, applying for admission, consultations with advisors in receiving institutions, and other special individual services, as needed.

Career Development
Career exploration workshops assist students in determining their career goals through various interest and aptitude tests. Students also learn training requirements, job duties, and job market outlook for occupations of interest.

Financial Aid Advice
Financial aid advisement is provided to those students requiring assistance when applying for grants, student loans and scholarships. Limited financial aid may be available to SSS participants receiving the Pell Grant.

Disability Services
Assistance is provided in note-taking, testing, physical and academic accommodations, faculty, or individual counseling.
Adaptive equipment is available on the second floor of the Fisher Campus Center. Dragon Naturally Speaking, a voice activated word processing system, and Dragon Dictate, a voice activated computer that allows “hands free” use of the computer, are available for the use of our students.

The following equipment is also available: Zoom Text, Jaws for Windows, 4-track tape players, Optelec 20/20 Spectrum 20” Color CCTV, Dec Talk PC Speech Synthesizer, Braille Printer, Tactile Maps, Large Print Dictionary, Minicom IV TDDS and Able Tables.

Cultural Events
SSS members have access to cultural activities such as music, art, theater, museum, or history events. Transportation and admission costs will be provided.
