Subject: Travel Reimbursement

Date Adopted: April 27, 1994, Revised July 24, 1996, Revised August 27, 2003

National Park Community College shall abide by the state travel rules and regulations and the various limitations on amounts for meals, mileage, etc., as they are changed by legislation or the Department of Finance and Administration from time to time. The following are specific provisions adopted by NPCC:

  1. Meal reimbursements will require receipts.
  2. While the state meal limits shall be followed in every instance, actual costs for hotel rooms shall be permitted if an individual is sent by the college to a meeting in a hotel which has a minimum rate which exceeds the state rate. In such cases, approval by the Office of Accounting shall be secured before the costs are incurred.
  3. Applicants invited for interviews from distances greater than 125 miles, one-way, may be reimbursed for one-half of travel expenses to a maximum of $750. Exceptions may be made with the prior approval of either the President or the Board of Trustees. To avoid unnecessary expense in the search process, search committees wishing to interview several out-of-state candidates shall prioritize the candidates and consult with the appropriate Vice President.
