| Completion of the authorization form is not required for students who are only receiving federal aid such as Pell Grant and Direct Loans. If you expect to receive a scholarship or waiver for the fall and/or spring semester, you must complete and return this form in order for the aid to be applied to your account.
National Park Community College has a variety of scholarships available to students: institutional, foundation, and third party scholarships. Each division at NPCC offers a $500 scholarship to their students. You may see the division chairs to inquire about applying for these scholarships. All institutional scholarships are awarded on a first-come first-serve basis until funds are depleted. NPCC’s Foundation also has a variety of scholarships to offer. Read more about foundation scholarships. There many off-campus scholarship benefactors as well. The best way to find out about up and coming scholarships is to check your student email account. You may contact the Computer Resource Center for more information regarding your email account. Priority Deadlines: April 1st for Fall and November 1st for Spring To apply for NPCC scholarships, print the NPCC Scholarship Application and attach items 1-5 on page 1 before submitting to Matthias Elder. Arkansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators(AASFAA) 2013-2014 Scholarship The AASFAA board will award at least two $500 dollar scholarships to Arkansas students planning to attend member institutions. These are non-renewable awards and will apply to the Fall 2013 semester. To apply, complete the following information attached to this e-mail and mail to the address listed on the application. Students must be enrolled at least half-time in 2013-2014 in a program that leads to a college degree. All applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2013. Any application after that date will not be considered. Limit one entry per person. Winners will be selected at a random drawing during the 2013 Spring AASFAA conference. American Association of University Women(AAUW) Hot Springs Branch scholarship: The AAUW has specified that scholarships be awarded to women who are in need of financial assistance, serious students, are enrolled full time(12 hours) and have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 cumulative. The application should include a personal letter(one page typed) and two letters of recommendation. A copy of GED scores or high school diploma and a copy of college transcripts is required as well. All documentation must be submitted to my office on the 2nd floor by the end of the day on March 26, 2013. Any applications submitted after this date will not be given consideration. Garland County Single Parent Scholarship Deadlines: Fall June 30 Spring November 30 Garland County Single Parent scholarship application will now be an online application instead of the paper application. You may find the application at www.aspsf.org. After you login to the site, look to the left on the home page and select apply now. Select Garland County, and then "login" to create a user account. Fill out the application completely. Also, you now have the option to upload the three required documents(personal essay, letter of recommendation, college transcript) to your application so they are submitted electronically as well. The application and the required documentation must be submitted on or before the above deadlines in order for consideration to be guaranteed. Eligibility criteria for this scholarship is as follows:
Greater Hot Springs Village Kiwanis Club Scholarship Deadline: April 15, 2013 The Kiwanis Club of Greater Hot Springs Village is offering a scholarship for students at NPCC and seniors at Fountain Lake High School. The Scholarship is for the Fall 2013/Spring 2014 semesters. Download copy of the scholarship application. *It must be mailed to the address listed on the application by April 15, 2013 in order to receive consideration. To be eligible, a student must: Be enrolled full-time at a public or private two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.Have a field of study identified in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics department of the college, university, or vocational-technical school they are attending.Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.Demonstrate financial need. At minimum, WCASHRM sponsors one (1) $500 scholarship to an undergraduate (junior or senior status) or graduate student annually. The 2013-2014 scholarship is open to any student who meets the following requirements:
The WCASHRM scholarship is awarded to one individual and is based on a variety of factors, including academic performance, demonstrated leadership, human resource related experience and/or extracurricular activities, career goals and overall presentation capabilities. The WCASHRM Scholarship Committee will determine the scholarship recipient based primarily on the above criteria, and will award the scholarship for the student's use toward college costs. Oaklawn Foundation Scholarship The Oaklawn Foundation Scholarship Committee will award a select number of scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year. This scholarship is open to Garland County residents only. The application and grading criteria are attached. The eligibility requirements are listed below. All parts must be completed fully and sent to the Oaklawn Foundation by March 1st in order to be given consideration. Scholarship Eligibility: Any Garland County Resident that is or will be enrolled at any two-year community or technical college or four-year public or private college or university. The recipient must list their permanent home address as in Garland County for the duration of funding. Home-schooled students shall only be considered for the scholarship once they are accepted by an accredited college or university. Priority will be given to students who are seeking higher education in Arkansas over those planning to attend out-of-state schools. Scholarship Criteria: Financial need, Community service or school participation, and ability to succeed are the primary factors considered, although none are a determining factor. Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club Scholarship Deadline: March 1, 2013 The Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club is offering a scholarship to high school seniors and NPCC students for the Fall 2013 semester. Applicants will be judged by the Rotary Scholarship Committee. A personal interview with the committee may be requested. Download a copy of the application is and forward to address below. Scholarship Criteria: Submit two letter of reference with the attached application. One from your high school or college counselor, principal or educator. The second letter from a responsible adult (other than an educator or relative) who knows your character, maturity, and financial need(example: employer, minister, friend of the family). Lastly, submit a copy of your college or high school transcript(high school seniors) along with the two letters of reference. Completed application, letters of reference and transcript should be returned by mail to the Rotarian Committee Member no later than March 1, 2013 at the following address: Tom Spencer Junior Auxiliary Academic Scholarship Deadline: March 1, 2013 The Junior Auxiliary of Hot Springs will be awarding scholarships for the 2013-2014 Academic Year. High school seniors and students attending National Park Community College may apply for this scholarship. The instructions to complete the application are very detail-specific. Rotary Foundation Offers Scholarship Opportunities The Rotary Foundation offers several scholarship opportunities for individuals wanting to study in another country. These awards include one or two year scholarships for college/university study. Scholarships for either three or six months are offered for those interested in intensive language study. Candidates must have completed at least two years of university or college course work at the time the scholarship period begins or have a secondary school education with employment in a recognized vocation for at least two years. Rotary also offers grants for University Teachers who want to travel abroad to teach at colleges and universities in developing countries. Candidates for these scholarships must be non-Rotarians. Rotary Grants for University Teachers Rotary Grants for University Teachers provide funds to higher education faculty to travel abroad to teach at colleges and universities in developing countries. The program is intended to build international understanding and foster development while strengthening higher education in low-income countries. The program also aims to establish ties between higher education institutions, leading to the exchange of ideas and information across the globe. The subjects taught by grant recipients must be relevant to the needs of the local population and contribute to the area's socio-economic development . Applications must be made through a local Rotary club. Find club contact information through the Club Locator. Club candidates go on to compete at the district level. Grant availability depends on local Rotarian contributions to The Rotary Foundation, as well as the programs the district chooses to support. Some districts may not offer Rotary Grants for University Teachers every year. Application deadlines vary, so prospective applicants should contact their local club for this information. Club deadlines for awards will generally be set between 1 March and 15 July. Sallie Mae Scholarship Information You can find a lot of useful information on their website www.thesalliemaefund.org including financial aid tips and tools Several scholarships will be available in August and in January. Please check online to see if you could qualify! The Women's Chamber of Commerce of Hot Springs will be awarding a scholarship to a NPCC student who plans to continue his or her education for at least one additional semester at NPCC. This scholarship is for $1,000.00. A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required for all applicants. Upon completion, please return to NPCC Financial Aid Office office by April 5, 2013. It is located in the Gerald Fisher Campus center on the 2nd floor in the Financial Aid Department. |
