NPCC Student Government Association to Host State and Local Candidate Forum

At a General Assembly meeting on March 31, 2014, the NPCC Student Government Association announced they have partnered with Garland County Farm Bureau to host a State and Local Candidate Forum on April 22, 2014. Those persons seeking the following public office positions have been invited to speak:

    • Arkansas Governor
    • US Congress District 4
    • Arkansas Senate District 14
    • Arkansas House Districts 21, 22, 24, 25, 26
    • Garland County Judge
    • Garland County Sheriff

SGA President, Matthew Chaput, said, "We believe it is important to educate our students in areas of citizenship issues. This event is an opportunity to meet our mission while serving our community. We are not aware of another event that facilitates this discussion concerning issues important to voters in our area. We are proud to open our campus to serve both our students and our community."

Garland County Farm Bureau President Tommy Sorrells stated, "This will be a great opportunity for the voters of Garland County to meet the candidates and ask questions that are important to them concerning the upcoming election. We at Farm Bureau are excited to partner with NPCC to make this event available to the public."

The forum is open to the public and will be held in the Martin Eisele Auditorium of the Frederick M. Dierks Center at National Park Community College, Room FD 103, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014. A complete list of participating candidates is available at
