NPCC Announces Students of the Month for November 2013, December 2013, and January 2014

The November 2013, December 2013, and January 2014 Students of the Month for National Park Community College were introduced at recent meetings of the Board of Trustees.

Ana Alvarez was introduced as Student of the Month for November 2013 by Carol Spargo, Director of the Medical Laboratory Technology Program. Ms. Spargo said that Ms. Alvarez was a great student and a voice of reason, and that she often assisted fellow students by helping them understand concepts. She said that Ms. Alverez has earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and contacted the MLT Program at NPCC when she decided she really enjoyed working in the lab. Ms. Alvarez expressed appreciation for Ms. Spargo and her other instructors.

Susan Cox, Student of the Month for December 2013,was introduced by Dr. Rebekah Robinette of the Math Science Division. Ms. Robinette said she felt lucky to have Ms. Cox in her class and that she is a nontraditional student who exhibits a genuine zeal to learn. Ms. Cox is in her second semester in the RN program and also tutors Biological Science on campus. Ms. Robinette said this "almost 4.0" student is always helping fellow students and has a great attitude.

Christopher Bishop, Student of the Month for January 2014,was introduced by Devron Dever of the Technical & Professional Division, Automotive Department. Mr. Bishop is the father of two and will be graduating in May with an Associate Degree in General Technology as well as a Technical Certificate in Automotive Technology. He plans to further his education by pursuing an Associate of Science Degree and then continue on studying engineering. Mr. Bishop is a five-year veteran of the active army where he was the recipient of a Bronze Star.
