Exceptions to this policy include requirements from a catalog more than three years old or changes in a program or curriculum mandated by external accrediting agencies.

Self-assessment is a way to clarify who you are and what you want. NPC Career Services
has a variety of tools to help you learn more about your values, interests, personality, skills,
and personal goals.

Read about jobs that interest you.
Occupational Outlook Handbook
Talk with people in career fields of interest.
Speak with a variety of people in fields you find interesting. Most people like to talk about their jobs and their industry. Even if you decide that a job or field is not right for you, you have learned valuable information.

Observe professionals in their workplace. Observe and "job shadow" professionals in their workplace to get a sense of their day-to-day responsibilities, challenges, and work environment.
Experience work first hand through volunteer and service learning opportunities. Test specific career fields by taking on volunteer or short-term work activities. Seek Internships through NPC CareerLink and visit our Service Learning page.
